Interview with Marta Villegas, CEO at NeoVerse Pay

NeoVerse Pay is not your typical EMI, nor a generic PSP. The platform positions itself as a modular, regulation-ready, API-first fintech layer for companies that want to build, scale, and automate compliant payment flows across Europe — with special attention to challenging verticals like affiliate payouts, high-velocity marketplaces, and MiCA-registered crypto entities.

We spoke with Marta Villegas, the company’s co-founder and CEO, to unpack her strategy, product focus, and how NeoVerse competes in a sea of “copy-paste” SEPA providers.

Who is Marta Villegas?

With a background in engineering and corporate banking, Marta spent over a decade at BBVA and Banco Sabadell managing SME payment infrastructure and early-stage fintech partnerships. She launched NeoVerse Pay in 2022 with co-founders from the regtech and Open Banking space. Fluent in Spanish, French, and English, she leads product-market alignment and regulatory partnerships across the EU.
